Valitsus tõstab teadus- ja arendustegevuse rahastamise taseme järgmisel aastal ühe protsendini sisemajanduse koguproduktist (SKP).

Rahandusminister Martin Helme täpsustas teisipäevasel pressikonverentsil, et teadusele ja arendusele suunatav summa suureneb järgmisel aastal 56 miljoni euro võrra 280 miljoni euroni.

Tänavu on teaduse rahastamise osakaal riigieelarves 0,75 protsenti SKP-st.

Valitsus kinnitas teisipäevasel istungil 2021. aasta riigieelarve ning esitab riigieelarve eelnõu riigikogule kolmapäeval. Eelarve kulutuste maht on kokku ligikaudu 13 miljardit eurot ning tulude maht üle 11 miljardi euro.
