A supporter of the PEGIDA movement, “Patriotische Europaeer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes,” which translates to “Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamification of the Occident” holds a poster featuring a crossed sign on veiled women at a protest rally on October 12, 2015 on the theater square in Dresden, eastern Germany. After months of dwindling attendance, its weekly marches have seen thousands gather amid mounting anger over Germany’s record refugee influx.
